The new cover of Comics Factory in number of exit for Lucca (of 'cultural association CyranoComics) has been entrusted to me, Gabriele Bagnoli (G) and Elisa Ferrari (E), which often work together.

1) (G) I start to do some testing for the 'setting, and already the second attempt to satisfy me: the Cyrano-moai in the foreground on the shore of a lake can be glimpsed behind other moai on the hills and mountains are far away in the background.

5) (E) Now it's my turn! I open my beloved photoshop and I try to be patient: I put all the backgrounds on a level basis, making sure that the colors in the background give less attention to those first. To be more quiet in the choice of colors I use the dropper tool to get some shade from other images that I use as documentation.
I create another layer and then I treat only the water and put in blending mode "Color". At this level, the opacity in order to make the effect more clear water.



6) (E) The next step is to put the shadows. Duplicate the base level of the backgrounds and put it put it in blending mode "multiply". Now proceed to remove the color zones design to be light and, with some incli here and there, behold, I get my shades!
Now take off a bit 'saturation of the shadows: I click on "image" in the menu bar at the top, go to "Settings" and choose the "hue / saturation." Now some fiddling 'with the slider that adjusts the color saturation until you get the desired effect.

8) (E) It 's time for finishing touches.
